J.P. Sexton, vice president and mortgage market sales manager for Centennial Bank in Fayetteville, was recently selected by the Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas (MBAA) as the 2014 Mortgage Banker of the Year.
This award recognizes one outstanding member of the MBAA who exemplifies excellence in mortgage banking. Recipients are characterized by their dedication, productivity and service for the mortgage industry and community.
Sexton is past president of the MBAA and served five years on the organization’s board of directors; and he has more than 25 years of mortgage experience in origination, underwriting, sales and operations management.
“This is a well-deserved award for J.P., who has given countless hours in supporting MBAA and making the organization beneficial to Arkansas banks,” said Scott Hancock, Centennial Bank Division President Northwest Arkansas.
Sexton founded the MBAA Board of Governors, an elite board of past presidents who serve as advisors for the group. He was part of the team that began the annual Tri-State Convention that brings together mortgage bankers from Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.
